Requirements
- Pen-drive (4GB or more)
- Linux or Windows
- Slax iso or zip (http://www.slax.org/en/download.php)
System Requirements
- i486 or newer CPU, all Intel processors and AMD processors will work
- 48 MB of RAM for text-mode 256 MB of RAM for KDE desktop
- (Optional)network card, sound card
Setup slax on Windows:
Note : Make sure your are administrator
- Copy slax.zip(or iso) to pendrive
- Extract here (make sure all files inside archive are at root directory of pendrive(here E:\))
- Navigate to E:\slax\boot\
- Execute bootinst.bat
Setup slax on Linux:
Note : Make sure you are root user
- Format pen-drive as ext2
- Install GRUB2 on it. (how to install grub2 on any linux?)
- Write the following configuration in grub.cfg (you create grub.cfg at where directory where you installed GRUB)
- Copy slax.zip(or iso) to pendrive
- Extract here (make sure all files inside archive are at root directory of pendrive(such that <mountdir>/slax))
Booting:
- Plug your pen-drive
- Reboot
- Open boot menu (Different companies provides different function keys to do it. eg. F7,F12 etc)
- Select your pen-drive
- We did it!
